Spanish is the third most spoken
language in the world (after Mandarin and English).
Spanish is spoken commonly in Andorra, Argentina,
Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba,
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France,
Gibraltar, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua,
Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Puerto Rico,
Spain, Uruguay, the United States and Venezuela.
Nearly 30 percent of the residents of Spain have a first
language other than Spanish, although most also use
Spanish as a second language. Languages of Spain include
Catalan, Galician and Basque.
In the United States; California has 5.5 million people
who speak Spanish as a first language. Other states
include Texas (over 3 million), New York (over 2
million), and Florida (over 2 million).
Spanish is (at the time of writing) the 4th widely used language on the Internet,
following English, Japanese and German.
